What on earth is Super Earth?
For those of you that have never participated before, you and your dog are in for a treat. “Super Earth” is a timed event in a complex underground series of tunnels (a maze to be more specific) with multiple exits, a false den and rats (in a protective cage of course) placed at one of multiple locations.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Twin Springs Farm Super Earth
RREC's members built an incredible new Super Earth tunnel located at Twin Springs Farm at a location well removed from the standard tunnels and walkups. Designed by Ed Bear, the new tunnel features lots of twists and obstacles throughout the maze including an over/under tunnel, stone pit and two alternate locations for the rat box.
How to Run Super Earth
A scent line is placed leading directly to the rats. Dogs are released at the entrance and have four minutes to reach the rat. Handlers are allowed to give multiple commands and move about above ground but not on top of the tunnels. Spectators are welcome and there is no restriction on breed, age  or registration of the dog. The entertainment value in watching the dogs try to figure it out is worth the entry fee! Dogs that reach the rats in four minutes or less receive a golden shovel lapel pin. Dogs are not required to work the rats, just indicate that they have found it.
